If you’re a regular blogger, you already know how much work it takes. In addition to writing content for our blogs, we bloggers have to take photos at times, connect with the readers and so much more. It may not seem like a lot, but trust me, just that is plenty already. Finding a balance between blogging and college can be hard, but it’s totally doable!
I started my blog during my first semester break of my bachelors. That’s last year December. It has been a hectic and busy semester, so I chose to take my mind off from studies and focus on something that I always wanted to do. Yes! Blogging has always been my passion. And while it has most definitely been a challenge since I’m back to college, I’ve been really enjoying myself.
Once the second semester started, I lost a lot of motivation to blog. I have a million other things to do, and also none of my college friends blog, so I got easily out of the blogging mindset. But then I start reading others blog in the blogging community and seeing them get their posts up motivated me to write again.
Today, I’m sharing with you how I handle it all being a bachelors student, and I hope that these tips will be able to help you too!
Even if I don’t write it all down, I always plan my day in my head. 😀 I don’t do blog-related things every day, but I try to schedule at least enough time to write a post, edit it, and publish it. As I’m posting once a week (at least that’s how it’s for now), I try to dedicate a little bit of my time every day to blogging. Sometimes it’s more, sometimes it’s less. I don’t have a strict blogging routine, but I do have a posting schedule, so I work around that.
Scheduling posts actually makes a big difference! You can write your posts in advance before they are published so that way you don’t have to think too much about it when you don’t have time for it!
Time management is so important in order to succeed both as a blogger and as a college student.
ITS OKAY NOT TO BE ALWAYS ONLINE
If there’s one thing that I’ve learned from blogging, it’s that it’s okay not be online all the time. Some people seem to be online all the time, but I honestly feel if you are a college student and because of college priorities, it’s even okay if you just can’t get a post out of the week.
Something I find very productive to do while being online is, I can always read content from other blogs. I make sure to make it a point to visit websites created by people just like me and give a read through it.
If I happen to have some unexpected free time on my hands and I’m not sure what to do with it, in that case, I make the most out of the free time. I use it to my advantage! Whether I know I have only an hour to dedicate to my blog that day, I make sure I’m making the most out of it!
I just had to add this point here!
The best way to develop your writing skills further is to write frequently. As a college student, I believe I have the advantage of being able to write about anything, which will help me master the writing skills faster than any other method.
So, despite being that blogger who has disappeared, I think it’s possible to manage blogging and college without too much sacrifice.
I hope that the above tips will push some struggling bloggers to keep at it! And a huge thanks to you guys for liking and engaging with the content that I have created since I started my blog.
How do you guys balance your time? Got any tips you would like to share?
I’ll be back with new posts soon.
